There are so many usb TTL in market, but i preferred this one for fast and stable connection

make sure 3.3v jumper is set on

we only need 3 wires :

  1. Rx [ RED ]

  2. Tx [ Brown ]

  3. Gnd [ Black ]




MAIN GUIDE :


  1. Solder the PS3 RX cable to the USB TTL TX cable

  2. Solder the PS3 TX cable to the USB TTL RX cable

  3. Solder the PS3 GND cable to the USB TTL GND cable

  4. Apply 5V power to the PS3 from the PSU, just make sure it's on standby.

  5. Look at the USB TTL device to make sure the power light is dim and the RX/TX lights are dim (if there are no lights, the system is dead. There's a short, or there could be a problem with the line or a bad PSU).

  6. Plug the USB TTL into the PC. The power light on the USB TTL remains on, and the RX/TX lights disappear. If they don't disappear, it's an indication of reverse wiring. Check.

  7. Then, open the application. Click Connect to PS3 (look for the RX/TX indicator light to blink rapidly 3-5 times, indicating a successful connection and the app is connecting to the PS3). See the log below. If auth fails, close the app, unplug the TTL device, and plug it back in. Open the app. Click Connect to PS3. If successful, as shown below: Auth Succssfull.

  8. Click Analyze. Make sure the code shown below is 00000. If it's 00000, click Analyze again, a maximum of 5 times. If it's the same 00000, the system isn't sending the code. It could be a cable stuck together, the cable is the other way around, or the system log is blank. Please replace the CMOS battery. Add 5V and 12V power supplies. Try turning it on with the buttons a few times and try UART again.


    If the code shown below is displayed, click Decode and scroll the mouse.


CAUTION:


THE CONNECT TO PS3 BUTTON CAN ONLY BE CLICKED ONCE WHEN OPENING THE APPLICATION (MUST CHECK THAT THE RX TX LIGHT IS MISSING, ONLY THE POWER LIGHT IS ON ON THE USBTTL BEFORE CLICKING CONNECT TO PS3).


WHEN CLICKING THE CONNECT TO PS3 BUTTON, IT IS WORKING (THE RX TX LIGHT FLASHES 3-5X RAPIDLY).


IF YOU CLICK CONNECT FREQUENTLY, IT CAN CAUSE A GLITCH. YOU MUST RESTART YOUR PC. BECAUSE THE PS3 SYSCON REQUIRES TIME TO PROCESS THE CHECK


THE ANALYZE BUTTON CAN BE CLICKED A MAXIMUM OF 5 TIMES WHEN OPENING THE APP.


THE DECODE BUTTON CAN ONLY BE CLICKED IF MANY ERROR CODE RESULTS HAVE APPEARED.

FREQUENTLY ASK QUESTIONS / TROUBLESHOOT :


A. when click on CONNECT TO PS3 Button shown :


  • wait ps3 10 second after give 5v voltage to motherboard , wait southbridge stable

  • maybe rx and tx cable was reversed [ or in some ps3 rx cable need to reversed ]

  • after connect to ps3 button was clicked , you cannot reClick connect to ps3 button again. you need to close application or remove usb tl from pc , then plug again ad reopen app.


B. shown this code:

 

  • syscon ic not powered 5v from standby psu

  • syscon not stable

  • syscon signal ic in trouble ( maybe short, maybe xtall ic was broken, or something )

  • syscon ic was broken, try replace cell be set [ cell + syscon + nor + bd ic ]
